The Story of Change is Good!

Change is Good was founded in 2007. The previous owner, Linda Lammers, sold the business and took a new job called RETIREMENT!

I purchased the business in 2021. Like so many others, I had the overwhelming and daunting task of moving my Mom and Dad from their home of 50+ years to an Assisted Living facility many miles away from the small community that they lived for so many years. I know all too well what a huge job it can be!

There was years and years of stuff that Mom and Dad accumulated over time and all of a sudden, a move or change needed to be made, what happens to everything that they have collected over the years?  What do they take with them?  What do they leave behind? We quickly found out that they couldn’t take it all with them.  How do we decide what to keep, donate or toss?  What was sentimental to me, might not have been sentimental to my brothers or sisters.  There were a lot of emotions involved, but with the help of my siblings, we had to make many decisions of what to do with all their “stuff”. To add to the stress, the house also had to be sold. Believe me – I have been there! It wasn’t easy, if fact, it was downright hard!  There were many highs, many lows, many tears shed and some weary days and nights, but we got through it.  It would have been amazing to have a service like this even somewhere nearby, but being from North Central North Dakota, this wasn’t even close to a thing! A business such as this resonates with me on such a personal level, as I have been there and done that, but now I have the opportunity to provide this service to families just like mine.

Before purchasing Change is Good, I was previously in Real Estate for eight years, specializing in Senior Real Estate (SRES). When the opportunity to purchase Change is Good presented itself, I jumped at the chance as this was a natural transition for me with my background in Senior Real Estate. I really enjoy working with this genre.  I have a passion for helping people, taking the time to listen,  and getting to hear THEIR story.
