A Business that Grew from a Passion
Like many businesses, Backhome Designs started as a hobby. Our friend Sandie enjoys turning old furniture and household decor into usable or decorative items. She would often repurpose furniture, repaint tables, and clean antiques, for nothing more than her own personal enjoyment.
Eventually, she discovered that other people wanted refinished works too. In fact, they would happily purchase the items she has refinished!
This is how Backhome Designs was born.
Backhome Designs and Change is Good: A Perfect Fit
We met Sandie at a local business networking event and started talking about our different services, which seemed to fit together like puzzle pieces. Immediately, a partnership seemed natural. Change is Good could help Sandie locate new material for repurposing, while Sandie could help our clients downsize while offering a fair price for their quality items. It was a perfect match.
Sandie and the Backhome Designs team will take nearly any household item that can be refinished and sold. This includes chairs, tables, pictures, bookshelves, lamps, dressers, and much more. As Sandie puts it, they “will take anything that someone might find interesting.”
Keeping Useful Items Out of the Landfill
Backhome Designs also serves an important community by keeping items out of the landfill. All to often, when people move, they literally send tons of material to the dump. With Sandie’s help, the items are not sent to a landfill, which is much better for the community.
If you’re ever in Pelican Rapids, stop by Backhome Design. Sandie’s store, which is located downtown, as lots of unique, decorative, interesting items waiting for you to discover.
